Mountaineer Mania
August 31, 2011:
Though summer tour season is drawing to a close, Nashville recording artist Taylor Made will play host to West Virginia University’s season opener at Milan Puskar Stadium this Sunday, September 4th, as well as aide in the beginning of a new era for the Mountaineers. Performing for fans before the game against rival Marshall University, the band will help introduce a new tradition, coined by WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen as the ‘Mountaineer Mantrip’. The tradition, created to celebrate West Virginia’s extensive coal-mining roots, will allow players to connect with fans as they parade down Don Nehlen Drive approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes before each home game. Taylor Made will be performing both before and after the Mountaineer Maintrip. “We’re honored that Dana has asked us to help usher in this new tradition,” explains band member Greg Duckworth. “We’re proud of our West Virginian roots and are thrilled to be a part of this celebration.”
